South-East Chicago Deco-Bar Circa 1945

 

Originally from The Highway Club located in South - East Chicago, adapted to now be known as 'The Highway Bar'.

 

The front bar was originally 41 feet long with the back bar at 35 feet as it was in the day. Enjoy the bar the same way it has been presented for decades.

 

Built from top quality material and craftsmanship made this an outstanding survivor of the period. 95% of the bar is still in its original condition. What you see is what has always been seen of the bar. Original wood, tops and glass & hinges. A rescue bar from Salvage One in Chicago in the summer of 2021. The correct home was found for it here in Mooresville NC, being a long and narrow location giving it that old time downtown city feel. Brings Chicago into the center of Mooresville N.C. No telling who has frequented this bar over the previous eight decades, but needless to say, that list must be quite interesting indeed.
